I run three business entities — consulting, merchant services, and licensed insurance. Different ledgers, different 1099s, different mileage patterns. One tax return.

For years that meant a stack of consumer apps, a shared Google Sheet, and a shoebox. The receipt OCR was fine. The mileage tracking was fine. What none of those tools could do was tell me, in April, what I'd spent on travel for the insurance book in Q3 of the prior year — and whether that matched what my bank feed said. The reconciliation was always me, at a kitchen table, tabbing between browser windows.

Read the transactions. Match the receipts. Notice that the $89 Best Buy charge from last Tuesday matches a monitor you've expensed to the consulting entity twice before. Draft the Schedule C preview. Flag the three trips that look personal but might not be. Do the boring, honest work of a bookkeeper — quickly, transparently, and without silently guessing.

So I built it. For me, first. The seeded entities, the preset mileage profile, the audit-defense posture — all calibrated to the operator I knew best. If the product works for me, it works for the other US-based 1099 operators with one to five entities who have the same problem and don't want to pay $200/hr to a CPA for data entry.

Two plans, by intent: Ledger if you want to do the work yourself with the ledger doing the books, and Co-pilot if you want the agent to close the month for you. The premium is the agent, not the receipts. Capturing a receipt should be cheap; what you're paying extra for is the system that reads, reconciles, and certifies the ledger on your behalf.
